The Octavia Adventuresâ„¢

Helping children navigate big feelings through curiosity, courage, and compassion.

The Octavia Adventures follow a brilliant purple giant Pacific octopus whose nighttime escapes become extraordinary journeys of discovery. Guided by curiosity and compassion, Octavia explores the world beyond her aquarium to better understand the emotions, challenges, and questions children face every day.

Each adventure begins with a mystery:

  • A quiet voice.
  • A bully.
  • A frightened child.
  • A confusing friendship.
  • A big feeling.

As Octavia learns, young readers learn alongside her, discovering practical tools for emotional resilience, critical thinking, healthy relationships, and personal safety through imaginative storytelling rather than direct instruction.

Each story is inspired by the same behavioral principles that guide Dawn’s work with parents, educators, and professionals—translated into adventures children can understand.

Featured Title

Octavia’s First Escape: The Mystery of the Quiet Voice

When Octavia notices a little girl’s voice has become quiet, she embarks on her very first nighttime adventure—discovering that courage, kindness, and listening can help every child find their own voice again.

The Clinical Recovery Bridge

From Forensic Analysis to Therapeutic Healing

Before recovery can begin, survivors must name, categorize, and evidence the systemic harms they experienced. Dawn’s criminological and forensic frameworks act as a pre-clinical bridge—helping survivors recognize and document the structural mechanics of coercive control, parental abduction, and developmental abuse.

Once the “crime scene” is unsealed, survivors can transition from forensic analysis to structured clinical recovery. Dawn closely partners with Dr. Alyse Price-Tobler, whose clinical protocols offer the psychotherapeutic pathway to rebuild attachment safety, differentiation, and long-term autonomy.

The Healing Qualia Treatment Protocol Cover
Clinical Treatment Protocol

The Healing Qualia Treatment Protocol (HQTP)

Developed by Dr. Alyse Price-Tobler

The HQTP is a specialist, phase-based clinical treatment protocol designed for adult survivors of complex family-system harms, parental alienation, familial abduction, and coercive control.

Written for mental health practitioners and psychotherapists, this trauma-informed framework offers a structured pathway organized around safety, stabilization, meaning reconstruction, grief integration, and building differentiation and autonomy.

Dawn’s Frameworks And Field Instruments

Original Architecture For Recognizing The Human Breach.

Dawn develops practical systems that organize evidence, expose repeated control tactics, and translate complex behavioral dynamics into language people can use. Resources are labeled by status so visitors can distinguish published work from tools still in development.

In Development

Predator Prevention Protocol™

A structural pathway for identifying grooming sequences, access tactics, escalation, and early intervention points.

Featured In The Book

DARE Frameworks™

Forensic preparation instruments for organizing risk, documenting behavioral patterns, clarifying the record, and preparing defensible questions.

In Development

PROTECT Protocol

A field-oriented structure for recognizing vulnerabilities, preserving evidence, and strengthening the human perimeter.

Applied Method

Overlay Process

Dawn’s cross-disciplinary method for comparing timelines, language, images, behavioral signals, documents, and competing explanations.

The Framework Crosswalk

Established Models.
Different Lenses.
One Evidence Architecture.

Dawn’s original frameworks organize the investigation. Established models provide additional lenses for examining influence, conflict, behavioral risk, nonverbal communication, and coercive control. Each model remains the intellectual property of its creator.

01

BITE Model

Steven Hassan’s model examines behavioral, information, thought, and emotional control within authoritarian systems and relationships.

02

FATE And Behavioral Profiling

Chase Hughes’ work examines focus, authority, tribe, emotion, behavioral vulnerability, influence pathways, and rapid behavioral observation.

03

Dangerous Personalities

Joe Navarro’s framework supports recognition of recurring traits and behavioral patterns associated with potentially harmful personalities.

BIFF Response®

Bill Eddy’s Brief, Informative, Friendly, and Firm method provides a disciplined structure for responding to high-conflict communication.

Behavioral Observation

The Body Adds Context.
It Does Not Deliver A Verdict.

Dawn draws from Chase Hughes’ Behavior Ops Manual and Six-Minute X-Ray, Paul Ekman’s Emotions Revealed, and established work in nonverbal behavior. Behavioral and emotional cues are examined as contextual signals, never as stand-alone proof of deception, intent, or guilt.

Behavior Ops Manual

Behavioral observation, influence mechanics, vulnerability, authority, and situational profiling.

Six-Minute X-Ray

Rapid observation of behavioral baselines, social needs, decision patterns, language, and nonverbal signals.

Emotions Revealed

Paul Ekman’s research-informed work on emotion, facial expression, and emotional awareness.

Pattern Discipline

Signals are compared against context, baseline behavior, corroborating evidence, alternative explanations, and the limits of the available record.

Forensic And Cyber Foundations

Documents, Images, Networks, Language, And The Record.

Dawn’s analytical approach is informed by formal education, professional practice, independent study, and specialized training across forensic examination and cybersecurity.

Forensic Document Examination

Katherine Koppenhaver’s Forensic Document Examination: Principles and Practice informs Dawn’s limited cold-case document examination work.

Forensic Imaging And Fingerprints

Coursework through Miami-Dade Police Department-based training supports image examination, evidence handling, and fingerprint foundations.

DFIR And Network Forensics

GIAC-aligned SANS training in digital forensics, incident response, and advanced network forensics informs Dawn’s cyber lens and timeline thinking.

Forensic Linguistic Analysis

Language patterns, document fragments, authorship indicators, narrative shifts, and timeline inconsistencies are evaluated within the wider evidence architecture.

Dawn’s Applied Method

The Overlay Process.

Dawn integrates criminology, behavioral observation, forensic document examination, cyber-informed evidence analysis, forensic linguistic analysis, and pattern recognition sharpened by lived experience through her original Overlay Process.

Her mind notices relationships, behavioral indicators, danger signals, and inconsistencies that many people pass over. Lived experience is not treated as proof; it informs where she looks, while the method tests every perceived pattern against context, corroborating evidence, and competing explanations.

The method places multiple evidence layers into relationship: timelines, language, images, documents, behavioral signals, authority structures, digital traces, and competing hypotheses. No single cue is treated as proof by itself.

The objective is not to force certainty. It is to make the pattern visible, preserve the limits of the evidence, and ask stronger questions.
